Honda Certified Warranty
When shopping for a Honda, it is a good idea to understand what the certified Honda warranty covers. The warranty helps protect you from out of pocket expenses that you should not have to cover. While Honda stands by its products, there are times where a certain element might not live up to the highest of standards. When this happens, you do not need to pay for it out of your own expenses, but instead it is up to your certified Honda dealership that much assist you. While each vehicle in the Honda family has its own very specific warranty, most share some general information as to what it covers and for how long. New Vehicle Limited Warranty
Every new vehicle Honda produces, regardless of the model or trim you opt into, is covered for three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. This means if anything on the vehicle fails, the dealership is responsible for replacing it at no cost to you. It is important to note though that the tires are covered by a separate warranty. The individual ties have a warranty with the manufacturer of the tires and not Honda, so if you are experiencing problems with the tires, you need to contact the tire manufacturer.
Additional Warranties
In general, the powertrain limited warranty is good for five years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. There is also a Federal Emissions Warranty that covers defects and performance over the components that make up the emission system of the vehicle. So, if you are experiencing issues with the emission elements of the car, truck or SUV, this is usually covered by the Honda certified warranty and the Federal Emissions Warranty, although to be sure you need to head into your local Honda dealership and have it inspected.
Hybrid System Warranty
If you drive (or are considering purchasing) a hybrid vehicle form Honda, it includes a hybrid system warranty. This applies to the powertrains of the hybrid vehicle and all other battery equipment used by the vehicle. Make sure to check up on the specific features of your particular warranty in the owner’s manual though, as it does vary not only from different models but also model years.
